The Jersey Shore

storm damage
We drove around Wilmington a bit, but everything opened late because it is Sunday.  It seemed like we had more to see in New Jersey.  We took back roads to Atlantic City and saw all kinds of damage from last night's storm.  Lots of trees down and many places without electricity.  In Atlantic City we went to the White House Sub shop where they have Frank Sinatra's use towel framed.  They had very long lines, so we went across the street to a seafood place and ate there instead.  Faster and very tasty. Then we went to Belmar, NJ for part of our Springsteen tour.  We found the corner of 10th avenue and E street.  Both used in Springsteen songs.  Next, on to Asbury Park.  We walked along the boardwalk and saw a few more Bruce sites.

The Stone Pony
Madam Marie's
Then, we drove to our B & B in Ocean Grove, which is just down the shore from Asbury Park, but much less crowed.  The city is on the Historic Register and all the buildings are very Victorian.  We walked around a bit, had dinner and then decided to check out the water.  It was lots of fun, until a wave knocked my glasses into the ocean never to be seen again.  Tomorrow, we'll work on replacing them.  This trip has been full of excitement and we're only half way through.

Geez, you gals! Glad to know you're okay as I was concerned about the storm. Glad you're finding your way regardless. Does add for some additional drama!

Super cool to see the Springsteen stuff ... and Southside Johnny on 7.3.12 ... man! wish you could stay for that!

Also am glad the Pirate didn't kidnap you and the crabs didn't bite. Who knew your adventure would be so rapt with danger danger. Next: find Will Robinson!

xoxo,
B.
